The Redeemed Christian Fellowship (RCF),
The Gap-Bridger which was commissioned
with the mandate to Preach the Gospel and bring good news to everyone in
diverse places and to the ends of the earth.
Founded in 2001 inaugurated by the General Overseer Pastor E.A. Adeboye.
HISTORY
The all sufficient God, ever true,
the present help in the history RCF from birth to cradle, adolescence to adulthood,
the story of RCF has been one of the continuous and progressive manifestation
of the faithfulness of the almighty God. of a truth, the lord is faithful and
great is thy faithfulness ,considering the metamorphosis of the fellowship from
its humble beginning with about five people in number over several years ago to
the overflowing sufficiency which daily represents the trend which the lord magnanimously
bestows on this fellowship. Physical of this are manifest in the edifices
resplendent in ecumenical center of university of Maiduguri and beyond. A
graphic example is the sprawling of the elevated altar, interlocking of the
tent, fans over our heads, beautiful roofing, and a huge transformation of the
whole look of the tent to a magnificent auditorium referred to as “house of
meekness” located right at the heart of ecumenical center of unimaid.
The
Redeemed Christian Fellowship was founded by some group of individuals, who
were all students of University of Maiduguri . They were dedicated,
devoted, committed and passionate for
the work of God and carried it to greater length. The fellowship was first
located in a small class room with about five (5) people in attendance and then
the location was moved to a room in the hostel. After a while, they moved to
the lawn Tennis Court opposite Commercial area. As it grew in number and status
and prayed for a permanent site at that time. The school authority decided to
give portions of land to various denominations for fellowship.
As time went on, it grew much more
in number, status and in diverse ways. The Number of people increased from 5,
20, 50-800 people as recorded in 2010/2011 session. These illustrations are
just but a few of the very many physical and material manifestations of the everlasting
sufficiency of the owner of the “cattle on the thousand hills” whose blessings
he daily loads RCF with. Great is thy faithfulness who daily loads us with His
benefits giving RCF the grace to make a boast in him with more than three
hundred members and have sent forth graduates (fyb) of more than fourteen sets
such as dominant army, royal champions, great icon, favoured generation and now
the light bearers of recent times.
Recalling experiences, some of the
members, workers and leaders of RCF in early times assert of the God who rules
over the affairs of man as the one who provides for them financially,
spiritually, emotionally, physically and materially from then till now. Great
men and women like the likes of Bro Ikenna, Bro Alex Elijah, Bro Sam
Okunrutemi, Mama Clara and so on, always told the family of Christ not to look
unto any man, but to continually look unto God for every provision and also to
serve God diligently because God is not in the habit of owing any man,
profoundly said by Pst. Alex Elijah. This word of grace was sown in the lives
of many which was carried on by their predecessors, like the likes of Bro
Bethel, Bro Ayomimpe Ogunbameru, Bro Levi Bulus and so on which germinated,
yielded good fruits, and further that seed experienced divine pollination right
on this campus and even beyond, up until now.
According
to the inspiration of the Almighty God which it followed and strictly adhered
to, has brought us thus far. God always have the best plan and He has used the
School Authority to move the fellowship to a higher ground. And now, we have roof
over our head, a gorgeous looking auditorium, and lovely members and workers
(The Happiest People on Campus) where we all dwell together in Love and Unity.
Today we celebrate 15 years of existence
Still growing and flourishing
To God be the Glory!!!
Indeed Great is thy Faithfulness!!!
FUNDAMENTAL BELIEFS
RCF derive its belief from the
official RCCG which outlines its belief in the Bible and the Holy Trinity; that
the devil exists, that God formed man in his image, in repentance, in cleansing
from sins by God’s grace in sanctification, water baptism, Holy Spirit baptism,
restitution and the possibility of healing without the use of medicine (by
divine intervention through prayer). The church forbids debt, worldliness and
rebellion against church authority. It encourages abstinence from all evil and
reverence to parents & authorities.
THE FAMILY’S SEED (TFS)
Of the many accomplishments in RCF
are the commencement of the outreach program called Bayan Dutse, An evangelical
movement to villages here in Maiduguri, taking the gospel and help aids to them
right where they are, which happens every session but recently changed due to
the insurgency. In furtherance of this thirst for soul winning, another great
innovation attributable to RCF was the inauguration of the Nativity Night which
occurs annually, showcasing the emblem of praises under one umbrella of unified
spirit in diverse cultural heritage. Many other powerful programs has since been
put in place for the upliftment of souls. Programs such as; Drama Night, prayer
Weekend, brothers and sisters weekend, worship experience, evangelism week and
Redemption Weekend. RCF also runs Foundation Bible School/Workers-in-Training
which has produced lots of vibrant and committed workers, working in God’s vineyard,
handled by various principals, men and women of distinct visions, fountain head
of illuminating ideas, idols of knowledge and experience and inspiration to all
of us, such as; Bro Ambrose Anyanwu, Bro David Jaffia, Sis Temidayo Adesina
with their various powerful Vps and so on.
